Qixi Festival is a traditional Chinese folk festival.  Tanabata Festival derived from star worship, for the traditional sense of the seventh sister festival, due to worship "seven sister" activities held in July 7th evening, named "Tanabata".  Through historical development, Tanabata has been endowed with the beautiful love legend of "Cowherd and Weaver", making it a festival symbolizing love, which is regarded as the most romantic traditional festival in China. In contemporary times, it has produced the cultural meaning of "Chinese Valentine's Day". 

Tanabata Festival is not only a festival to worship the seventh elder sister, but also a festival of love. It is a comprehensive festival with the "Cowherd and Weaver girl" folklore as the carrier, blessing and love as the theme, and women as the main body.  Tanabata Festival began in ancient times, the ancient people found that there are two stars in the sky are separated by the Milky Way, and very bright, linked to the division of labor of men and women at that time, respectively called "Altair" and "Vega".  According to legend, on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, the Cowherd and the Weaver maid meet on the magpie bridge in the sky.  Qixi Festival originated in China, but it is also celebrated in Some Asian countries influenced by Chinese culture, such as Japan, the Korean and Vietnam.  With the invasion of Western Valentine's Day, authorities have proposed making Qixi Festival a Chinese Valentine's Day in order to protect traditional culture.  On May 20, 2006, Qixi Festival was listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage by The State Council of the People's Republic of China.  

This year's Qixi Festival is destined to have special significance in the special time of epidemic and flood disasters, as well as Saturday.  There is enough time and space for family reunions: have a candlelight dinner together and enjoy the romance of Valentine's Day.
